The main focus for the SQL Developer will be reporting (writing SQL queries), ad-hoc data extracts, and analysis. The individual in this role should have SQL Development experience with a Mortgage Servicer and will be responsible for developing complex reporting with an understanding of current business processes and metrics as they relate to the mortgage industry. This includes gathering requirements, analyzing and mapping data, and complex report/database development. Candidate must possess the necessary skills to work in conjunction with all areas of the business including other analytics areas in order to improve overall operations through rigorous quantitative analysis.

What you will do:

  • Analyze existing SQL queries for performance improvements
· Identify and implement optimizations to both performance and accuracy of databases, as required and appropriate.· Plan, implement and support data acquisition, staging, loading using MS SQL platform (SSIS) procedures, functions, and SQL scripts in a Microsoft SQL Server environment.· Develop and modify stored procedures and T-SQL scripts in response to validation exceptions. Engage in query performance tuning.· Design, implement, and maintain new and existing database objects including tables, indexes, constraints, stored procedures, and user-defined functions in support of data conversion projects.· Perform ad-hoc data queries in response to critical business needs· Ensure the data quality and integrity in databases and improve application’s performances· Fix any issues related to database performance and provide corrective measures.· Create complex functions, scripts, stored procedures and triggers to support application development.· Take regular database backup.· Develop and adhere to standards, processes and procedures to create, deploy and maintain databases.· Excel within a team of data, information and solution experts who are responsible for working with the applications and infrastructure teams to develop and deliver products and services.· Conduct research and makes recommendations to the Enterprise Business Solutions Manager on services and standards in support of procurement and development efforts.· Support implemented BI solutions by: monitoring and tuning queries and data loads, addressing user questions concerning data integrity, monitoring performance and communicating functional and technical issue. Requirements:
  • Previous experience as SQL developer for a mortgage servicer

Strong working knowledge of application, SSAS, and T-SQL code and ability to demonstrate the ability to write functional requirements.

  • Experience with backups, restores and recovery models
  • Knowledge of High Availability (HA) and Disaster Recovery (DR) options for SQL Server
  • 2-4 years MS SQL Server Administration experience required
  • 2-4 years of experience with Transparent Data Encryption (TDE)
  • Excellent understanding of T-SQL programming
  • Excellent understanding of Microsoft SQL Server
  • Good knowledge of HTML and JavaScript
  • Creation and reverse engineering of Microsoft Access databases experience is helpful
  • Experience with Performance Tuning and Optimization (PTO), using native monitoring and troubleshooting tools
  • Ability to interface directly with internal customers, as needed
  • Attention to detail and solid organization skills

Education:

Bachelor’s degree in computer science, information technology, management information systems, or a related field
