Data Architect

We are looking for an experienced Data Architect to join our team. This position can be remote or located at either of our headquarters locations in Winooski, VT, or Indianapolis, IN.

The Data Architect works closely with our software and application development teams to recommend database structures based on the data storage and retrieval needs within each department. They are responsible for constantly monitoring our database and immediately addressing database issues and problems. The successful candidate will also submit reports to management that outline the changing data needs of the company and come up with related solutions.

Responsibilities:
  • Develop database solutions to store and retrieve company information
  • Install and configure information systems to ensure functionality
  • Analyze structural requirements for new software and applications
  • Migrate data from legacy systems to new solutions
  • Design conceptual and logical data models and flowcharts
  • Improve system performance by conducting tests, troubleshooting and integrating new elements
  • Optimize new and current database systems
  • Define security and backup procedures
  • Coordinate with the Data Integration team to identify future needs and requirements
  • Provide operational support for BI and Reporting
Qualifications:
  • 3+ years of experience as a Data Architect, Data Scientist, Data Analyst or similar role
  • Bachelor's of Science degree or equivalent experience
  • Experience working with private and sensitive personal information
  • In-depth understanding of database structure principles
  • Experience gathering and analyzing system requirements
  • Knowledge of data mining and segmentation techniques
  • Expertise in SQL
  • Familiarity with data visualization tools (e.g. Tableau, D3.js and R)
  • Proven analytical skills
  • Problem-solving attitude
  • Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills
