Job Summary

JOB SUMMARY:
Support of laboratory operations and the systems employed by our customers. This includes responsibilities for troubleshooting, maintaining and updating clinical and business application configuration files and other maintenance of laboratory and billing systems as needed or directed to ensure continuity of system performance and product delivery. Creates documentation for troubleshooting activities, workflows, and job aids.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
1. Perform application configuration file maintenance and other required file modifications as directed.
2. Apply systems analysis techniques and procedures to troubleshoot system applications. Follow established procedures and consult with lab operations, management and /or customer(s) as needed to resolve problems.
3. Follow incident, service request, change management and problem management procedures that include communicating with appropriate personnel and logging changes to production and or development environments.
4. Serve as a support/resource to users and other customers by communicating changes, answering questions, reporting and following up on problems, etc.
5. Assist with implementing, maintaining, supporting, and troubleshooting application systems as assigned.
6. Ensure that all systems requests are completed to meet expectations of incident, service request, change management and problem management.
7. Ability to work independently, with minimal supervision.
8. Communicate with all internal and external customers both written and verbally while demonstrating company values and iCare.
9. Demonstrate willingness and ability to work as an effective team member in the department and with other departments.

Minimum Qualifications

MINIMUM EDUCATION:
  • Associate’s degree in Medical Laboratory Technology, Computer Science, Management of Information Systems, Information Assurance, Information Technology or Medical related field(s).
  • In lieu of degree, equivalent combination of education and experience equal to three (3) years’ experience.

MINIMUM EXPERIENCE:
  • Two (2) years’ experience in computer and/or laboratory operations.
  • In lieu of degree, equivalent combination of education and experience equal to three (3) years’ experience.

PREFERENCES:
  • Bachelor’s degree in Medical Laboratory Science to support laboratory applications.
  • Strong SQL and SSRS programming experience and knowledge.
  • Experience implementing HL7 interfaces highly desirable.
  • Basic medical terminology.
  • General knowledge of laboratory testing and/or medical billing systems.
