Primary role is to oversee the database performance, perform database maintenance, and support of database technologies. Will be responsible for providing operational database services for our organization. Additional responsibilities include owning, tracking, and resolving database-related incidents and requests. Role also includes performance tuning and writing code for database access, modifications, and constructions including stored procedures, views, and triggers, as well as oversite of database security. This role will also oversee the data integration work for Engineering Enablement, including data model, maintaining a data warehouse in Snowflake and analytics.
Responsibilities:

  • Works with Database Engineers and Software Architects, to provide systems design that is dependable, scalable, and maintainable.
  • Manage, support and maintain database technologies (Microsoft SQL and MongoDB) and infrastructure, adhering to the architectural guidelines and policies.
  • Maintain organization database diagram up to date with current implementation.
  • Provide technical expertise and hands-on support in the consolidation and migration of databases to new hardware and platforms.
  • Implementation/Support of databases, storage structures, AlwaysOn Availability Groups (Clustered, Clusterless and Distributed), encryption, and disaster recovery solutions.
  • Provide DBA support for enterprise monitoring, backup, alerting, and security compliance solutions for database servers.
  • Perform data analysis to uncover issues and solve complicated problems that typically span multiple systems.
  • Auditing and maintaining database infrastructure configuration.
  • Demonstrate a dedication to continuous improvement, both in terms of infrastructure, architecture, and cross-department communication.
  • On-Call rotation

Qualifications:

  • Bachelors/Degree in Computer Science or other technology field
  • 5-7 years of DBA experience with Microsoft SQL Server
  • Expert in writing T-SQL, including complex stored procedures, functions, views and triggers
  • Strong knowledge and extensive experience with Microsoft SQL Server technologies (all core areas: SSMS, SQL clustering, Data Synchronization, Encryption, Partitioning, Performance, Security, SSAS, SSIS, and SSRS configuration) is mandatory
  • Sound knowledge of all windows and SQL utilities; strong PowerShell and/or VBscript knowledge and experience is a plus
  • Solid understanding and experience in maintaining the MSSQL technology lifecycle, and automation of MSSQL deployment
  • Excellent analytical, Interpersonal and Communication skills, fast learner, hardworking and good team player
  • Knowledge of Microsoft Azure SQL Databases
  • Knowledge of MongoDB
  • Knowledge of Azure/AWS cloud
  • Knowledge of Snowflake Data Warehouses
  • Knowledge of Data Modeling
  • Knowledge of HVR is plus
  • Able to work independently
