We are looking for a Senior Software QA Automation Engineer that is a self-starter and comfortable taking ownership over assigned projects while working collaboratively in a team environment. This role will play an integral role in the ongoing quality assurance of our internally developed proprietary software platforms and applications. The ideal candidate has a passion for technology and is constantly exploring, learning, and improving their skills. This position is part of a dedicated and growing team of engineers to produce cutting edge, best in-class commercial loan origination software. The Senior Software QA Automation Engineer reports directly to the VP, Technology. This is a hybrid opportunity, working out of the San Diego office 2-3 days per week (once we return to office).

Responsibilities:

  • Construct and establish policy and protocols for defining software quality procedures, standards, and specifications.
  • Develop and implement comprehensive test cases and test plans to address functional enhancements and bug remediation.
  • Test front and backend capabilities and services of the loan originations systems.
  • Work with UI/UX designers and developers to design specific testing strategies for features being developed.
  • Collect and report quality metrics from manual and automated test execution.
  • Implement and maintain an automated test framework.
  • Design and develop test automation scripts to assist in testing core elements of the loan origination system.
  • Implement test automation in a CI/CD pipeline.
  • Support the operations and engineering team in troubleshooting and addressing issues with the LOS applications in the production, development, and test environments.
  • Collaborate with Product Owners, Software and Data Engineers on all key projects.
  • Function within a team environment and communicate with others across the organization.
  • Stay on top of cutting-edge tools and testing techniques.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Information Services, Computer Science, or a related field.
  • 10+ years of experience with creating automated regression test solutions.
  • Experience in a small and agile software development environment.
  • Highly organized with strong problem analysis and resolution skills.
  • Strong interpersonal, communication, and teamwork skills.
  • A drive to succeed and win, sense of urgency, and passion for the work.
  • Knowledge and experience with:
  • Testing tools and automation frameworks such as Postman, Cypress, Percy, Selenium, Katalon, SauceLabs, BrowserStack, and other open-source projects.
  • Testing frameworks such as Laravel Dusk or Codeception.
  • Proficient with SQL and relational databases (MS SQL Server, MySQL).
  • Expert level understanding of web applications: HTML, PHP, Python, NodeJS, CSS, JavaScript, AJAX, HTTP protocol, cookies/sessions, browser differences, web services.
  • Experience with browser debugging tools (Firebug, Fiddler, Charles, “inspectors” or other similar tools).
