Position Overview

The Epic Senior Resolute PB/Claims Analyst supports the mission of OCHIN though complex configurations to support the front desk and revenue cycle applications within the Epic electronic health record (EHR) software for our member clinics. This role consults with members and internal staff to provide solutions that offer accurate, secure, and efficient workflows, with a focus on quality financial outcomes for our member organizations

Essential Functions:

  • Monitor project progress by tracking activity; resolving problems; publishing progress reports; recommending actions.
  • Prepare technical reports by collecting, analyzing, and summarizing information and trends. Conduct insightful, ad hoc analyses to investigate ongoing or one-time operational issues.
  • Actively participate in the implementation of Epic.
  • Manage multiple concurrent implementation projects as related to Epic.
  • Document build specifications, team processes and complex workflows
  • QA OCHIN standard builds, Quarterly Update (SU) modifications, and other work orders.
  • Collaborate with members from other OCHIN teams to address integration issues.
  • Weekly internal analyst calls for communicating, tracking, and documenting new build/updates
  • Work and resolve issues identified during Go-Live and post Go-Live.
  • Develop and share workflow best practices.
  • Build, design, test, and document functionality of new features.
  • Provide process improvements within your application or team
  • Lead and manage multiple competing projects simultaneously, defining, delegating and managing build deliverables for themselves and other revenue cycle analysts as needed.
  • Perform complex build and configuration in Epic, external financial clearinghouses, and related products.
  • Serve as Subject Matter Expert for project scoping, technical design, and process improvement
  • Consult with installing member billing offices, identifying existing billing workflows, reviewing claim examples and provided regulatory requirements, and suggesting build solutions to mitigate potential process gaps.
  • Translate and design customized Epic financial build logic when standard options are not available.
  • Provide weekly financial updates and project status reports throughout the life of each project
  • Act as project and technical consultant
  • Ability to work and communicate effectively across role types at customer organizations, including ability to lead strategic discussions with executive points of contact
  • Attend go-lives, leading ad hoc decision-making conversations from the command or billing centers as appropriate
  • Other duties as assigned.


  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in similar or relevant role.
  • The ideal candidate will have 5-7 years of experience as an Epic Applications Analyst, most have a minimum of 3 year of build experience.
  • Epic Certifications/proficiencies in PB and Claims, with build experience within those applications is required
  • Bachelor’s Degree (Healthcare Informatics or Computer Science preferred) or a combination of college education and 5-7 years of relevant experience.
  • Intermediate proficiency in Microsoft Excel.
  • Work history in Healthcare IT is required.
  • Strong communication skills – able to communicate with both application and technical team members, as well as end users.
  • Consistently acts with integrity and accountability.
  • Process and detail-oriented, with a strong focus on data-driven decision making.
  • Proactive, self-motivated, and solution oriented.

  • Travel may be required based on business requirements for OCHIN
