Job Summary:

Amentum is currently seeking a Test Engineer to support an IT Managed Services program for Sandia National Laboratories, Department of Energy. The overall program includes a 500+ work force performing Enterprise IT support, Service Desk, and Telecommunications support across multiple facilities and locations, for classified and unclassified telecommunications and information technology (IT) systems for National Technology and Engineering Solutions of Sandia (NTESS).

In this role, you’ll work with testers, developers, engineers, and functional users to evaluate software. You’ll work on building a test plan with test cases based on functional requirements and/or user stories. Using automated and manual processes, you’ll generate data and execute the test cases to see how the software performs, then document the results and communicate defects to the development team so they can start improving the tool. You’ll automate continuous performance testing and monitor health of the Human Capital Management system. This is an opportunity to leverage your skills by writing the code to test the code. You’ll also further your experience in cloud products and explore new areas like automation. You will be a part of the Medical, Learning, and Testing IT Department who provides agile, integrated, software solutions that simplify Sandia’s everyday tasks by providing holistic, modern enterprise applications and IT solutions for Sandia on behalf of the National Security Mission.

As a member of the team, you will:
  • Blend automated/ manual testing to efficiently cover the system’s functionality without compromising quality.
  • Create frameworks for automation.
  • Create logs to document testing phases and defects.
  • Report bugs and errors to development teams.
  • Work as a member of a cross-functional agile team participating in planning, stand-ups, retrospectives, and demos.
  • Troubleshooting automation software issues.
  • Conduct post-release/post-implementation/regression testing.
  • Work with cross-functional teams to ensure quality throughout the software development life-cycle.
Minimum Requirements:
  • U.S. Citizenship required; must not possess dual citizenship with any other country other than the United States.
  • Must have a Bachelor's Degree and 2 an Associates Degree and 6 years of experience OR High School Diploma / GED and 10 years of experience.
  • Must be able to obtain a SECRET (S) or DOE L clearance and maintain it for the life of the contract.
  • Required experience using Katalon to help develop and prepare test scripts for automated testing of Oracle Human Capital Management (HCM) system.
  • Experience with Katalon and Selenium automated testing tools.
  • Experience testing experience and 2+ years of test automation experience, including software testing, data quality, regression, accessibility, integration and APIs testing.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to work with customers to design, write, and execute tests.
  • Experience with Python, JavaScript, PowerShell, or similar scripting language.
  • Experience with source control (GitHub, ADO Repos, Git).
Preferred Qualifications:
  • 5+ years of experience working on process and product quality assurance.
  • 5+ years of software testing experience, with at least 3+ years developing Katalon test automation scripts.
  • Significant experience working collaboratively in multidisciplinary Agile teams to deliver software development projects.
  • Ability to communicate effectively with stakeholders, to perform business analysis and produce relevant acceptance criteria.
  • Demonstrated self-sufficiency to work independent, requiring very little supervision or intervention.
  • Demonstrated flexibility and openness to bring creative solutions to address issue.
  • Experience in identification and tracking of defects, narrowing the root cause to enable efficient investigation.
  • Experience participating in quality assurance and cross-team process improvement initiatives.
  • Knowledge of the software development life cycle and agile methodologies.
  • Experience querying databases (MSSQL, PostgreSQL, MySQL)
  • Demonstrated a software development background (e.g. Java, .NET, C#, Web APIs)
  • Attention to detail and strong problem-solving skills with web-based applications and services.
  • Experience deploying applications using Docker containers, Kubernetes on a private Azure Cloud.
  • Dedication to providing a high level of customer service.
