Data Quality Specialist

The Data Quality Specialist will be responsible for implementation and support of Electronic Data Interchange (EDI) with numerous external systems like HIE, EMR, Labs etc. This position requires the Specialist to work collaboratively with internal and external partners for the various Integrations to develop standards for data exchange and data quality that can be replicated as well as adhered to. Timely completion of Data Integration projects will be key responsibility of this position, as we are dependent on external resources.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following. Other duties and tasks may be assigned.

  • Collaborate with External Software vendors (HIE, EMR, Labs) to understand their data exchange capabilities and analyze source's data specifications in detail.
  • Work with Internal partners to ensure every External Integration meets the agreed Data requirements for effective clinical workflow and decision analytics.
  • Analyze and translate Business requirements into functional and non-functional requirements.
  • Develop Data exchange & quality standards/playbook for successful Clinical Data Integration with external vendors, that should be easily replicable & complied to, for various implementation.
  • Using requirements documentation, technical specifications, and business process flows, develop detailed test cases and test plans that ensures data quality standards are met.
  • Attend and participate in internal & external meetings to review test plans and test cases & ensure interfaces are developed and tested in compliance with agreed standards by all partners.
  • Able to manage multiple competing priorities and meet deadlines as needed.
  • Execute manual test cases, perform data validations, and provide detail documentation to various stakeholders for project tracking.
  • Identify, document, and track defects; work collaboratively across business and IT teams to review, troubleshoot, prioritize, and resolve defects.
  • Proactively provide status, raise issues, and communicate necessary information on a regular basis via stand-up meetings, 1-on-1 meetings, and/or impromptu occasions with internal and external partners.
  • Actively promotes GUEST customer service standards; develops effective relationships at all levels of the organization.
  • Participates in team concepts and promote a team effort; performs duties in accordance with company policies and procedures.
  • Regular and reliable attendance is required for the job.

To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily.

Requirements include:

  • Bachelor's degree required. Combination of education, specialty certifications and experience in related area will be considered in lieu of degree.
  • Minimum of 4-5 experience in Quality Assurance testing.
  • Experience with Testing & Data Verification methodologies (QA Certification preferred not mandatory).
  • Understanding of CCDA, HL7, Fire industry standards for data exchange will be a plus.
  • Strong written, verbal, and interpersonal communications skills including ability to listen attentively and to communicate information clearly and effectively.
  • Demonstrated ability to work well with cross-functional groups and offshore resources.
  • Demonstrated interpersonal, collaborative, and relationship-building skills; ability to interact positively with teammates at all levels of the company.
  • Strong attention to detail.
