Software Engineer / Web Developer

This Software Engineering role will specifically work in e-Commerce, specializing in developing code on the Salesforce Commerce Cloud platform, for highly visible retailer sites.

You are:

  • Experienced in developing software and technical implementations of customer projects, for 3+ years professionally.
  • Experienced in implementing standards-based front-end development (HTML5, XHTML, JavaScript, CSS).
  • Willing to learn and use coding skills in the Salesforce Commerce Cloud B2C platform, a primarily ECMAScript-based platform (aka SFCC)
  • Experienced in N-tier Web application development using some platform such as Microsoft’s Web technology stack (ASP.NET MVC, C#, Entity Framework, etc).


Skills and Experience needed for success:

  • Design, write, unit test, and document application code to successfully deliver secure, robust, transactional and service-oriented architectures
  • Hands-on professional experience in designing, documenting and developing web-based and stand-alone software applications.
  • Strong understanding of Front end and Back end web development.
  • Excellent communication skills and a demonstrated ability to work independently.
  • Possess analytical, problem-solving, teamwork and communication skills as well as creativity and attention to detail; familiarity with database management, development environment, program testing, and other related software.
  • Experience evaluating and implementing cloud-based solutions, object oriented languages and concepts, and developing software and technical implementations of customer projects.
  • Hands-on professional experience in designing, documenting and developing web-based and stand-alone software applications.
  • Excellent communication skills and a demonstrated ability to work independently.
  • Possess analytical, problem-solving, teamwork and communication skills as well as creativity and attention to detail; familiarity with database management, development environment, program testing, and other related software.
  • Have experience working as part of a small, focused team acting as the primary technical expert and advocate.
  • Appreciation for web standards and accessibility (e.g. WCAG Standards, screenreader support, semantic HTML).
  • Excitement to play a critical and evolving role in driving technical initiatives to enhance end-user and developer experiences.
  • Experienced working with designers to create and maintain style guides & CSS standards across different applications.


Responsibilities - You will:

  • Design, write, unit test, and document application code to successfully deliver secure, robust, transactional and service-oriented architectures
  • Produce excellent code while collaborating with internal development resources at the client.
  • Partner with other Red Vanners for QA, Project Management, and troubleshooting development issues.
  • Participate in stand-up meetings, conference calls, track your time, and work through tickets assigned to you within a Jira instance. Lots of tickets.
  • Work remotely with the distributed team at Red Van as well as client resources, being available during core business hours.
  • Learn from some of the best on how to develop within the enterprise level e-Commerce platform, Salesforce B2C Commerce Cloud.

Compensation:

  • $90,000, - $120,000 annually

Red Van Workshop is a distributed company, so your geographic location within the USA is not critical: your office is your choice. Occasional travel availability to client locations may be necessary, so reasonable proximity to an airport with good commercial service is required. Most of our crew travels rarely, at most a few days per quarter.
