Job Description Summary:
The MAXIMUS Reimagined Solutions (#MARS) Team is looking for a highly motivated and skilled ETL Developer to join and help develop ETL solutions to exchange data with partners.
The #MARS Service Team is responsible for modernizing the current product offerings for MAXIMUS’ core markets of eligibility, enrollment and customer service. The ideal person to fill this role should be someone with critical thinking skills who is self-motivated and can work with aggressive timelines. The person in this role will be having his/her daily activities assigned by the Tech Lead and/ or the Service Delivery Manager. Tasks would be such as developing the ETL export/ import scripts with validations and transformations, as per the user requirements, giving guidance to test support activities, executing the CI/CD pipelines with guidance, communicate progress, status, and dependencies with the distributed team members clearly, to name a few.
This role will support the Microservices initiative currently underway. ETL Developer will be part of the software development team and be responsible for developing, deploying and maintaining ETL jobs that works in conjunction with the Microservices.

Job Duties/Responsibilities:
  • Build, test, deploy and maintain ETL processes, handling various file formats such as CSV, Fixed Length, EDI files
  • Use REST APIs to export or import data into the inhouse product
  • Design and build environments, framework and processes to acquire data from Healthcare clients/vendors in a secure and efficient manner
  • Set up processes to acquire data in structured/semi-structured format, and implement tools/processes to consume data received, as a batch process or real-time
  • Maintain documentation, manage source code and deployments, and implement best-practices
  • Focus on streamlining and improving data integration efficiencies, reducing effort related to development and support, while providing security, flexibility and scalability
  • Continuously optimize, enhance, monitor, support and maintain all data integration processes.

Education/Experience/Skills Requirements:
  • High level proficiency in one or more ETL products such as Informatica, Pentaho (Kettle), etc. (Talend expertise is preferable)
  • Medium level proficiency in EDI (preferably in handling healthcare related files, particularly the 834 file format)
  • Medium level proficiency with REST APIs, JSONs, Mysql DB, GIT
  • Experience in Analysis, making recommendations, and influencing overall strategy and roadmap to build data integration ecosystem and supporting toolsets
  • Experience in Analyzing data, design and build databases tables to capture all data elements, and load data, while maintaining data lineage and operational tracking.
  • Eagerness to learn and demonstrates strong analytical and critical thinking skills.
  • Excellent organizational, interpersonal, verbal, and written communication skills.
  • Ability to work well in a fast-paced environment under deadlines in a changing environment.
  • Ability to successfully execute many complex tasks simultaneously
  • Ability to work as a member of a globally distributed remote team, as well as independently

Preferred Experience:
  • Familiar with CI/CD, Jenkins pipeline
  • Experience with cloud (preferably AWS) and microservices architectures, and multi-tenant solutions
  • Experience working in agile and devops delivery environments
  • Experience in building scalable systems
  • Experience in processing large data volumes
  • Low to Mid Java coding experience
  • Advanced skill level in SQL, data integration, data modeling and data architecture skills
  • Advanced knowledge of physical database design and data structures

Preferred Certifications:
  • Any certifications that demonstrate understanding databases, datamodeling, ETL processing, etc.

Work Schedule:
  • While project supports a flexible 40-hour week, the core working hours need to be in the window between 7am ET till about 7pm ET.
  • Candidates need to be able to attend meetings in the above window; particularly, morning availability is critical to collaborate with offshore team. (alternate time zones can be considered if agreeable to this)
  • While the job is remote, candidates cannot be expecting to work from outside US.
Job Summary:

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
  • Lead the development of software solutions that will meet or exceed business requirements; the development effort includes designing and implementing modules to the system specifications, conducting unit testing, troubleshooting issues and producing detailed proposals to resolve issues.
  • Evaluate new coding techniques, tools, modules, and implementation as appropriate.
  • Lead and mentor entry and mid-level developers.
  • Consult on requirements elicitation and definition.
  • Design software solutions per systems requirements.
  • Code software solutions per designs.
  • Code reviews, unit test, and integrate coded modules.
  • Assist other developers in resolving issues by providing guidance and training.
  • Support testing and remediate defects.
  • Support users through troubleshooting and analysis of production logs and data.
  • Investigate new solutions, tools, products, and techniques to incorporate into coding standards.
  • Perform other duties as assigned by management.

Minimum Requirements:
  • Typically requires a minimum of 8 years of related experience with a Bachelor's degree; or 6 years and a Master's degree; or a PhD with 3 years experience; or equivalent experience.
  • Works on complex issues where analysis of situations or data requires an in-depth evaluation of variable factors.
  • Exercises judgement in selecting methods, techniques and evaluation criteria for obtaining results.
  • Networks with key contacts outside own area of expertise.
  • Determines methods and procedures on new assignments and may coordinate activities of other personnel as a team lead.
