Business Quality Specialist, Automation and UAT Testing

Tesla Energy’s Quality Team works to support the installation of high-quality residential energy products (Solar Roof, Retrofit Solar, Powerwall) to ensure the highest levels of performance and customer satisfaction. Tesla Energy handles the sale, installation and service of energy product and as a member of the Business Quality Operations team you will interact with all business units involved in the lifecycle of a Tesla Energy product.

The Business Quality Operations team provides business support through targeted audits that deliver critical information to stakeholders. While the Installation Quality Teams deals with product performance metrics the Business process quality team deals with customer service metrics.

A Business Quality Specialist focused on Automation and UAT Testing for Tesla Grid the software the tracks job status for Residential Energy Products from order to install. As a Business Quality Specialist you will acts as a liaison between the business and IT personnel to support system enhancements and design activities until deployed to production and post-implementation testing has been completed.


  • Under minimal supervision oversee small to midsize projects (within a larger program) that span across multiple areas, applications and functions, and/or products.
  • Develop and revise test plans, specifications, test cases and schedules and prepare test scripts. Identify, track and help resolve defects. Record test results on time and with quality.
  • Attend business requirements review sessions.
  • Ensure traceability from requirements, functional requirements and change requests to UAT test scenarios.
  • Support and participate in QA test scenario reviews to identify gaps.
  • Ensure sign off is received on UAT testing approach and testing results, from business experts and partners.
  • Manage testing timelines and progress independently.
  • Communicate status, defects and progress clearly and consistently. Create or update reports with status as needed.
  • Plan, Facilitate, or assist with meetings as needed to accomplish individual, team and/or project goals.
  • Ability to identify risks and issues, collaborate and partner with others and proactively plan to mitigate.


  • Associate's Degree or equivalent combination of education and experience
  • 1-3 years of progressive work experience in Quality Assurance/Auditing, Call Center, or Customer Service.
  • Proficient with SQL
