A Technical Project Manager is responsible for the day-to-day management and smooth operation of various digital projects and initiatives. This individual will oversee all project operations from inception to execution.

The Technical Project Manager is responsible for maintaining budgets, enforcing deadlines and supervising team members. For this position, we expect you to be a tech-savvy professional with an in-depth understanding of how technology can help us achieve our business goals. You should be methodical and have excellent time management skills. As a Tech project manager, you should also use your communication skills to collaborate effectively with various teams, monitor project progress continuously and make detailed scheduled reports on measurable items, such as milestones and deliverables.

Ultimately, you should be able to manage and deliver our projects’ digital lifecycle within quality, time and budget requirements.

Technical PM Responsibilities

  • Develop comprehensive project plans that merge customer requirements with company goals and coordinate various managers and technical personnel during all project phases, from initial development through implementation.
  • Manage projects with top-down oversight throughout entire execution to ensure success as defined by adherence to standards of scope, budget, and timeline.
  • Manage day-to-day client communication and coordination of cross-functional delivery teams including technical, clinical, and executive stakeholders.
  • Meaningfully communicate status to internal technical and executive teams as well as external clients and partners.
  • Create Daily Hot Sheets to be distributed to the team and ensure all members are on board with delegated tasks
    • Highlight potential risks or malfunctions and act proactively to resolve issues
  • Oversee and manage routing of components to designated stakeholders and ensure all changes are incorporated and compare to the BRD/requirements for alignment
  • Oversee support team to ensure support requests are being resolved in a timely manner by Support/Dev team
  • Oversee QA and Development Team to make sure that projects are in alignment with BRD. If there are any gaps in functionality in the BRD vs how the site is working, Tech PM will ensure tickets are written to resolve and prioritize releases
  • Analyze economics of project plans and provide actionable feedback relating to cost benefit and return-on-investment standards.
  • Anticipate delays and future requirements by communicating directly with customers and staying informed of relevant trends, industry news, and competing customer project

Qualifications and requirements:

  • Preferably PMP certified
  • Bachelor’s degree
  • 4+ years in project management supervisor role in software development relevant to pharmaceutical
  • Must be an adaptable self-starter, have strong logical/analytical problem-solving skills, ability to proactively manage risk and influence others, develop change leadership strategies, and develop plans to mitigate or address concerns
  • Experience with managing and developing a team
  • Excellent communication and organization skills
  • The ability to meet deadlines and maintain communication with internal departments
  • Experience using online Project Management Software (Jira- Must, Workfront-Nice to have).
  • Technical knowledge on Software development understanding database structure, frontend, and backend development tasks and requirements.
  • Expert in Microsoft Office (Word, PPT, Excel) and Adobe PDF.
  • Ability to multi-task, prioritize workload, and meet deadlines, and be very well-organized to Manage projects in complex projects.
