Women Rocking Business is a training company that has worked with over 100,000 women around the globe helping them to build businesses and make the world a better place. We have 3 tiers of year-long business training programs for beginners and for more advanced women entrepreneurs, we have group coaching, private coaching, and business retreats. Our team consists of about 20 members. We are growing, pursuing big plans, and building on our mission to bring collaboration, empowerment, and sustainability to women entrepreneurs everywhere.

The Marketing & Automation Web Developer (MAWD) is a new role and this individual will be responsible for the website, servers, CRM, marketing automation, and other technology deployed at Women Rocking Business (WRB). As the primary technology decision-maker and chief implementor, the MAWD formulates plans for the organization and ensures high-performance technical operations. This role is cross-functional and relates to the technology used for customers as well as team operations. The MAWD will personally select, develop, and implement technology as well as, as needed, hire contractors and enlist members of other teams to create and service company products. At WRB our primary customer experiences are driven through our website, email, Facebook, webinars.

Responsibilities

The Marketing & Automation Web Developer holds these core responsibilities of the technology department:

  • Design and implement high-performance customer technology systems
  • Design and implement business intelligence solutions for decision-makers
  • Design and implement technology that improves team effectiveness


Additionally, the MAWD holds these leadership responsibilities:


  • Perform project management for the technology development department
  • Shape company initiatives in coordination with other leaders
  • Support team members across the company in understanding the abilities and limitations of our technological infrastructure


Tasks

Customer technology

  • Build customer-facing WordPress web pages, CRM automation sequences, email templates, and more for marketing, sales, and product delivery
  • Monitor and operate technology during live events and marketing releases
  • Select and implement customer product technologies
  • Design and implement marketing automation (Ontraport)
  • Develop products with a cross-disciplinary team (i.e. design, data, front-end)
  • Design and build products for scale, complexity, security, and fault tolerance
  • Use server and IT strategies designed to handle scale, complexity, and failures
  • Design and implement software specifically suited for a task as needed
  • Implement and monitor A/B testing and other optimization infrastructure

Business intelligence

  • Work with decision-makers to establish criteria for data collection
  • Design and implement data collection and visualization methods
  • Verify the accuracy of data being collected and used by the team

Team support and effectiveness

  • Institute reusable software designs and file naming conventions
  • Work with other teams to anticipate, identify, and articulate technology needs
  • Select and implement software and systems for other teams
  • Issue guidance about intended customer experience to support team

Company technology

  • Design and implement systems architecture
  • Select and implement API integration paths
  • Manage servers, hosting systems, domain infrastructure, and scaling utilities
  • Manage backup protocols and systems
  • Manage internal and 3rd party email deliverability
  • Manage security protocols and systems

Tech team leadership

  • Design standards for the technology department's code, systems, and processes
  • Train, guide, and manage technology department team members
  • Review team code and solutions to verify that standards are being met
  • Provide constructive feedback to support team learning and development
  • Set policies and standards for the technology department

Requirements

The Marketing & Automation Web Developer possesses strong abilities and a broad understanding of software engineering, computer science, data science, and web technologies. These core skills are applied to web development, marketing automation, design process, and product development.

The MAWD is experienced with project design, project management, and team management. This skill set is applied to the design, implementation, and management of the technology department's projects.

Expected candidate background:

  • B.S. in Computer Science or equivalent demonstrable work experience
  • 7+ years front-end development, specifically with JavaScript, HTML, CSS, and React
  • 7+ years back-end development, specifically with PHP, NodeJS, MySQL/SQL
  • 7+ years plugin development for common CMS’s, specifically WordPress
  • 5+ years software and application development
  • 5+ years database design and management
  • 3+ years managing a software team
