Buzzworthy Integrated Marketing is a digital marketing firm serving businesses in the United States. The company's mission is to provide cost-effective & attention-grabbing websites for local businesses so they achieve superior marketing results that lead to dramatic increases in profit.
We are looking to add another front-end WordPress Web Developer/Designer to our remote team. This developer will be responsible for creating a wide variety of custom websites, most often using WordPress. The perfect candidate will have experience with a variety of themes and plugins and will be comfortable writing code when needed.
In addition to building new websites, you may be asked to administer current websites with content fixes, bug fixes, troubleshooting, and feature additions as needed.
This position is open to freelancers looking to add more jobs to their plates. Agency experience is a plus.
Successful applicants will be familiar with Adobe software and feel comfortable talking to clients about technical issues, though most client interactions are handled by the Marketing/Sales team.
Our new developer must be a team player who absolutely loves WordPress. We want to make websites for local small businesses that are so good, it makes national websites jealous!
We understand that every developer has their own way of doing things. At Buzzworthy, we have specific guidelines on how new websites are built. Please review our general guidelines below. If you can't abide by these guidelines, this position is not for and we ask you don't apply.
New Website Development Guidelines:
For all new website projects, the website must be delivered in such a way that future updates do not require premium licenses for plugins/themes and in a way that updates retain website style and function. To this end, these guidelines are to be strictly followed:
1. Use only free themes and plugins that are being actively maintained by the developer.
2. Do not edit plugin code, theme code, or WP core code.
3. Add custom functions via a child theme or plugin available on wordpress.org.
4. Follow accepted WP best practices.
- Advanced level WordPress
- Advanced HTML5, CSS, PHP, responsive design
- Familiarity with transferring domains and setting up hosting accounts
- Experience with MySQL Database Administration
- Experience with Adobe Illustrator and Photoshop
- Wordpress: 5 years
